Registration

  • Only one team per non-profit is allowed. Team Size: Four members Cooking Requirements: Teams are required to prepare sample-sized tacos for 300 attendees. Team Details:

  • Team Entry Fee: $1,000
  • Team Size: Four members
  • $750 Early Bird Entry- Register by July 15
  • The first 10 teams to register will receive a $500 H-E-B card to use towards ingredients - Proudly Sponsored by H-E-B

Registration Deadline: Monday, September 8, 2025.

Event Schedule:

  • Team Setup Time: 9 am
  • Event Doors: 12 pm
  • Judging Time: 2 pm
  • Award Ceremony: 3 pm

Participation Details:

  • Non-Profit Representation: Each team must represent a 501(c)(3) non-profit or charity. Only one team per charity is allowed.
  • Cooking Requirements: Teams are required to prepare sample-sized tacos for 300 attendees.
  • Ingredients: Teams must provide their own ingredients.
  • Equipment: Teams will need to be self-sufficient and provide all cooking and serving equipment, and tent. Each team will be provided 4 folding chairs and 1 6ft table. No electrical power will be provided to teams.
  • Judging Criteria: Tacos will be judged based on taste, creativity, and presentation.
  • Judges: A panel of sponsors & culinary experts will determine the winners.
  • People’s Choice Award: Attendees will vote for their favorite taco, and the team with the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award.

Health and Safety:

  • Sanitation: Follow all health and safety guidelines for food preparation and handling. Each team is responsible for keeping their booth area clean and free of debris. Care must be taken to avoid spills.
  • Alcohol: Absolutely no outside alcohol will be permitted due to TABC Regulations. Teams are allowed to partake in alcoholic beverages purchased from the venue so long it does not affect their ability to serve guests. Outside alcohol or excessive consumption will be grounds for disqualification with no refund of entry fees.

Prizes:

  • 1st Place: $5,000
  • 2nd Place: $2,500
  • 3rd Place: $1,000
  • People’s Choice: $1,000
  • Payout: The prize money will be awarded to the non-profit or charity directly.
